[Japan/Convenience Store] Must-Try Pistachio Ice Cream Loaded with Real Pistachios / A Convenience Store Delight You Can't Miss in Japan

It's been a while since I came to Tokyo. Standing in the middle of the bustling and crowded Shibuya can feel overwhelming, yet oddly calming at the same time. It’s kind of like how turning the TV on loud can feel chaotic, but it keeps your mind from wandering too much.

Anyway, whenever I’m in Japan, I end up indulging in tons of sweets. It’s amazing how the kinds of sophisticated flavors you’d normally find in famous cafés in Korea can be easily found in Japanese convenience stores. And because it’s so accessible, I find myself eating a lot of it.

As always, I made it a mission to try as many desserts as possible while here. Lately, "pistachio" desserts have been trending in Korea, especially thanks to the Dubai chocolate craze, so I went on a hunt for pistachio treats.

I found this pistachio ice cream at Seven-Eleven called "Crispy Pistachio - Rich and Luxurious Flavor." It looks exactly like it does on the box, so I didn’t bother taking a picture. You’ll see what I mean if you try it yourself—there’s no exaggerated marketing here, which was impressive.

The outer layer is a crunchy pistachio-flavored chocolate with real pistachios embedded in it, and the inside is soft pistachio ice cream. The chocolate is crispy when you bite into it, but it melts smoothly in your mouth.

I love pistachio chocolate so much that after trying this once, I made it a daily habit—1 pistachio ice cream a day. It’s such a shame I can’t bring any back to Korea!
